Kutiyattam Programme at State Museum, Public Gardens Hyderabad
Kutiyattam, is a form of Sanskrit theatre traditionally performed in the state of Kerala, India. Performed in the Sanskrit language in Hindu temples, it is believed to be 2,000 years old. It is officially recognised by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
6th February 2016: The torchbearer of Kalamandalam style of Koodiyattam, Kalamandalam Sangeeth Chakyar, performed in the city recently, letting the aficionados experience sheer acting brilliance.
The traditional dance form of Kerala State known as Kutiyattam was presented at the Amphitheatre in State Museum.
The dance program was attended by Sri. Ronald Rose IAS, District Collector Magistrate along with Smt. N.R. Visalatchy, IPos, Director Department of Archaeology and Museum, Hyderabad.
The cultural dance form was well received and appreciated by the audience.
