Invitation for Raaga Chitramala 2015 Event

The Department of Archeology & Museums in association with the Department of Tourism, Government of Telangana, india is organizing an event called Raaga Chitramala for the year 2015. It noticed that first event of Raaga chitramala dated on 29th September 2015, after the world tourism day.

It is a Lecture cum Demonstration on Raag and Raginis by acclaimed music exponents – Dr. Sudha Patwardhan, disciple of Padmabhushan Pandit Vinayakrao Patwardhan, accompanied by Sri Suhas Shastri on Tabla, Sri Rahul Deshpande on Harmonium & vocal support by Smt. Aradhana Karhade Shastri.

Chief Guest for Raaga Chitramala Programme 

The Chief Guest of the event, Sri Azmeera Chandulal, Honourable Minister ST Development, Tourism & Culture, Govt. of Telangana will inaugurate a Painting Exhibition and release of a fine art publication on Raaga Chitramala.

The Venue is Ravindra Bharati, Lakdikapul, Hyderabad from 6.30 pm – on 29th September 2015.

Special Thanks to Telangana Tourism, for conducting such a great event called as Raaga Chitramala.

The department has 60 paintings of these series representing medieval India and an amalgamation of art and classical music.


“Of these 60 paintings, we have selected 30 which have legends present with them for the event being hosted in association with the Department of Tourism,” the Department Assistant Director, P. Brahma Chari said.


The lecture-cum-demonstration on Raag and Raginis would have the participation of music exponents such as Sudha Patwardhan presenting ragas depicted in this collection of 18{+t}{+h}century paintings, he said.

For students

After the Ravindra Bharati, a similar event would be held at Agha Khan Academy for the students on September 30.
