The Surajkund Crafts Mela 2016 is organized annually by the Haryana Tourism Department in the month of February. This delightful handloom and handicrafts fair is planned every year to promote the traditional Indian Handicrafts in rural ambience at Surajkund in the vicinity of Delhi. The event was inaugurated by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and said “and the Surajkund Mela offers a platform to people from different cultures to learn from each other.”
Union Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister and local lawmaker Krishan Pal Gujjar and Telangana Tourism Minister Azmeera Chandulal were among others present at the fair.
The Chief Minister later took rounds of different pavilions, and visited the pavilion of this year’s theme state Telangana and interacted with its craftsmen.
Surajkund International Crafts Mela 2016
The government of Telangana has been given the honour to be the THEME STATE in 30th Surajkund International Crafts Mela 2016 from 01-02-2016 to 15-02-2016 at Faridabad, Haryana. Tourism department, Government of Haryana is organizing this mela and it gathers more than 1.3 million visitors every year.
This mela occupies a place of pride on the International tourist calendar where more than 1.3 million visitors thronged the Mela last year. The Mela is hosted by Haryana Tourism and one of the States of India is given the honour to participate as the Theme State every year.

How to Reach
Surajkund, the site of popular Surajkund Mela is located at a distance of 8 km from South Delhi in Faridabad. The resort is easily accessible by road. Haryana Tourist Bureau organizes special tours from 36, Janpath, New Delhi.
The nearest airport is at Delhi. The site of the fair is just 25 km from Palam Airport and also just a 35-minute drive from the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Surajkund is about 8km (5 miles) south of Delhi and is well connected to Delhi, Gurgaon and Faridabad towns by road. Buses are available for the fair site from ISBT and Serai Kale Khan, Haryana Emporium; Baba Kharak Singh Marg.One can also hire Tourist cabs/ tourist coaches from Delhi.
Delhi is the nearest railway station. One can even reach Faridabad or Gurgaon by train and can hire a cab for traveling to Surajkund the rural ambiance of Surajkund Crafts Mela.
Metro services are also available from Central Secretariat till Badarpur via Sarita Vihar and Mohan Estate. Badarpur locality is close to the interstate border between the city of Faridabad and Delhi.
