National Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY) was launched on 21 January 2015 with the aim of bringing together urban planning, economic growth, and heritage conservation in an inclusive manner to preserve the heritage character of each Heritage City.
HRIDAY Scheme At Warangal
In the process on 18-10-2015 (Sunday), the senior leader of BJP Mr. Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu, who is the Union Minister of Urban Development, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and Parliamentary Affairs visited Warangal district and launched Govt of India scheme “HRIDAY” for better future of Warangal tourism as a part of Telangana tourism.
The program was started to revitalize the infrastructure of heritage assets such as monuments, Ghats, temples etc. On the occasion, Venkaiah Naidu visited the Bhadrakali Temple, Thousand Pillar temple and examined the architectural aspects of the monuments. The Union Minister laid the foundation stone for pylon of Hriday scheme and looked into the progress of the program. The Central Government has sanctioned Rs. 18 crore for the protection of heritage monuments in the district. Venkaiah Naidu said Warangal is listed by the central government, With providing 40 crore rupees under HRIDAY SCHEME to develop tourism of great kakatiya dynasty.
In the first phase, jointly both Bhadrakali Temple and Padmakshi hill will be developed under the scheme for which the minister may launch on Sunday.
He said that public utilities would be provided on the basis of PPP mode. Venkaiah also assured he would take up cotton procurement issue with CCI officials. He asserted that Modi is working seriously to revive economy.
On the occasion Kadiyam Srihari and Seva Tourism & Cultural Society, Founder & President, Mr. Kusuma Surya Kiran, presented a Gnapika of Warangal tourist Heritage places.
